Mindless Expressions!!?
My Health Challenge
|
What is your health goal for the month?
I have always wanted to do so much I end up doing nothing...body building, eating healthy(no McDonalds, Burger King, takeout), jogging every morning, but it seems I never find the time to do anything. Then SARS just had to come along...now I have to watch what I touch, eat, breathe, ... to sum it up work out (BODY BUILD) and to better my personal hygiene (SARS Prevention).
What actions/choices/sacrifices will you make to achieve this goal?
~Cook food at home to bring for lunch
~Push ups(50) and jogging(I hope) every morning
~Tidy my desk and not use it as a dining table
~Read more on body building
- I should get help at the gym to use that equipment the most effective and painless way. Don't want to hurt myself.
Questions when updating Log (in no particular order)
- What site, or suggests are there for a someone going to the gym for the first time?
- Receipts for a health lunch (body builders lunch)? Never cooked lunch for myself always ate take out...
- How can I stay motivated and not give up especially the gym!
- Does anyone go to the gym, maybe we can have a virtual team, and you be my personal supervisor, helping me body build.
Any message to other members who are participating in the Health Challenge?
If anyone is working out let me know, i need advice. Not sure if i can share anything!
------------------
I need to tidy my desk...will give you updates on how that is going.

Hey Reggie, what's going on? I guess I can answer that after having read your update.
I guess Jennifer sent that e-mail about me to you. I have a really good feeling about coming into the office and getting to know you guys. Not to worry though, I'm not hard to entertain.
So you want to get into working out? Bodybuilding??? I think that's great. I have my own health ambitions this summer. I've been in and out of the gym for a few years so I might be able to give you some decent pointers, but in the end it's what you make of it, as are most things really.
What I plan to do back in Toronto is hit up the YMCA regularly, probably for a morning workout before starting the work with tig. Maybe we could go together? The offer's here for you, if you'll be up. Actually, if I'll be up. I've had a pretty horrid routine of sleeping around 3 and waking up around 10 during the year. I hope that to change though.
My advice for the interem,if you would so like it, is just to relax. I think the keys to positive health are as mundane as fresh air, a good diet and a positive attitude. Everything flows from everything else. I find a lot of people work out, with particular ambitions but without much understanding behind them and what it is their doing.
Anyway, keep up the updates, you're right, they are a really good medium to express yourself. And your poetry is really good, really real.
Talk to you in the T-dot.

It would be your routine...
Hi Reggie! Well replying to ur update I trainning bodybuilding into an intermediate level. You can find an Internet site by clicking on my add sites from my "Updates Page".
SARS and Bodybuilding... One of the best things of bodybuilding is to read lot of articles and knowing some tips of health and routines... The best way for stopping or retard an Ilness is prevention.
Preventive Medicine based on natural resources as making sports and eating well. For example for a flu will be best to prevent It by intakes of vitamin C as Lemmon... When u feel bad that a Flu will come one of the best things is to wearing warm clothes and drinking a hot beverage as a cup of tea mixing with lemmon juice and honey.
If you are a bodybuilding beginner first of all you needs a routine for lifting an appropiate weight. Also see your mirror and discover what you need to reduce bodyfat or increase mass appeal, that is necessary for design your routine and diet. Also find your poor developed muscle group for trainning It with intensity and if you have a gym partner would be best for helping while you trainning correct.
I hope I help you with these tips. So I wait your reply answer these enquires ;)

Good cardio
Hi Reggie :-) I hear you loud and clear.... motivating yourself for exercise is tough.
The only thing that I've found that works for me is rowing. I, by nature, am a sloth. But my natural inclination to nap, drink beer, and watch Buffy reruns can be overcome by my commitment to 3 other people to be in a boat with them 3 times per week. And once we're out on the water, it's hard to stop rowing if everyone else keeps going (oars to the kidneys are even less fun than continuing to row when I'm tired).
Rowing is also great cardio... something which you need to balance off the weightlifting in order to keep something vaguely resembling a human body. Some of the guys that ONLY lift without doing any cardio are actually in quite poor physical condition from a medical standpoint.
Best of luck and keep me posted on how it goes!

The hardest part...
Hey Reggie,
Personally I think the hardest part of working out is actually hauling yourself to the GYM, once you're there it is easy to get motivated. Like anything else you do, it will not succeed unless you have goals. Make for yourself simple goals you would like to attain by some time. Make realistic goals. Be proud for yourself when you accomplish them. Do not expect others to motivate you. Learn to motivate yourself and be greatful if other sources of motivation comes. To stay motivated, you have to make sure you identify and protect yourself from bad habits and influences that offer resistance to your goals.
Blah!

Needs
One does not need a so called "Gym" or special equipment to get into shape.
It has become and is big business but all one needs to understand is that your own body and its weight is all that is needed to get into excellent form.
Jog or cycle when the rush hours fumes are at their lowest. If you live just downwind from a major highway then take note of the wind direction. Swim when you can.
IT is better to be in shape, cardio vascular and all, then to be a body builder.
I myself could lose 30 pounds, yes i still use pounds, should not but it is hard to teach an old dog with American and British influences new tricks.
When in Toronto i shall begin my journey as well.
Now for the mind and soul...
Gerald

Goodluck!
Hey Reggie
At least you have had the courage to even do something about your health. Some people merely think about it but never really get down to doing it cause they feel that so many things hinder them. All the best my dear friend!!!!! I know that you, in the very least can do it! As for bodybuilding, have fun in the very least. Revel in the thoughts of your bod looking something out of an action movie! LADIES, WATCHOUT!!!!! (LOL)
all my love
